Man charged over thefts

A MAN has been charged over alleged break-ins and thefts from properties in west Edinburgh and West Lothian.

Quantities of gold and jewellery were stolen along with sums of cash and other personal belongings.

The 28-year-old was reported to the procurator fiscal and appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on  Tuesday, where he was also facing charges relating to alleged fraud and road traffic offences.

He was remanded in custody and will appear in court again on December 18.
