Man charged over Methven murder

A man has been charged with the murder of an 80-year-old woman in her own home last month, police said.

The body of Jenny Methven was discovered at Kildinny Farm cottage in Forteviot, Perthshire, at about 5:15pm on 20 February.

Tayside Police said a 46-year-old man had been arrested and charged with Mrs Methven’s murder. He will appear at Perth Sheriff Court tomorrow.

POLICE have cancelled a planned television appeal featuring the murder of an 80-year-old woman in her own home as they have reached a “critical stage” in their investigation.
