A MAN had part of his ear bitten off in a “totally unprovoked” late night attack at a fast food outlet, police said.

The 28-year-old victim now requires surgery after being set upon by two young men at KFC in Glasgow’s Renfield Street.

Detectives hunting the attackers said it was a “particularly violent” assault on a man who had only gone into the shop to buy something to eat.

Strathclyde Police said the incident happened at around 11pm last night.

Officers said the victim and his friend were confronted by three men and a woman whilst standing in the queue.

They decided to leave the shop without getting anything to eat, but as they headed towards the door, the 28-year-old man was attacked by two of the men in the group.

The injured man was then taken to the city’s Royal Infirmary, where he is currently being treated for his injuries.

Police said the two attackers were last seen in Bath Lane.

The first suspect is described as being around 18 years old, white, of slim build and with dark hair. He was wearing a grey tracksuit with yellow writing on it.

The second man is said to be white, around 18 to 20 years old, and of slim build. He wore a dark jacket and had the name Scott tattooed on the right side of his neck.

The other man with them is described as being white, 18-20 years old. He had on a black Stone Island jacket, black trousers, black trainers and a charcoal grey beanie hat.

The woman in the group was also white and of the same general age. She had a medium build and long straight dark hair and was wearing a white cardigan, white top with a large bow across the chest, denim shorts, black tights and black shoes.

Witnesses have been asked to contact the police on 0141 532 3000.
