Man arrested and charged over village knife attack
A MAN has been arrested and charged following a stabbing in an East Lothian village.
A 30-year-old man was attacked in Greenmill Brae in Macmerry at around 8.15pm on Thursday.
The victim was taken by ambulance to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary after being treated by paramedics, and a police spokeswoman yesterday described his condition as “stable”. A 27-year-old man was set to appear at Haddington Sheriff Court yesterday in connection with the incident.
A neighbour, who asked not to be named, said: “I saw the ambulance taking the man away and there were lots of police cars outside the house. They had the house and garden taped off.”
Detectives revisited the scene yesterday morning, which was photographed as part of the investigation.
