Man, 45, due in court over death

An ARREST has been made over the death of a man following an alleged assault.

Michael McAughey, 36, was found seriously injured in his home in Witch Road, Kilmarnock in the early hours of Monday. He was taken to the town’s Crosshouse Hospital but died later that night.

Strathclyde Police said they arrested a 45-year-old man and he is expected to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court today.
