Mackay hails Games choir

A CHOIR from Broomhouse which starred in the Olympic opening ceremony have been hailed for their “tremendous achievements”.

Local government minister Derek Mackay met members of the Broomhouse Health Strategy Group yesterday to launch a website for groups across Scotland to come together to share their successes.

He joined some of the choir participants who sang Flower of Scotland at the curtain raiser as they learnt about food through storytelling and tasting.

Mr Mackay said: “It’s a sign of the tremendous achievements of this group that the choir it runs for local children was chosen to showcase a part of Scotland’s culture to the world.”
