A CRACKDOWN on absentee crofters - some living as far away as the US or Australia - has resulted in more new blood in the industry.
In the last year the Crofters' Commission has resolved 75 cases of absenteeism, with 31 crofts allocated to new entrants, 33 to existing crofters and 11 to previous absentees.
