Luxury hotel lifts industry ‘Oscar’ prize
A LUXURY apartment hotel in the Capital has been crowned Scotland’s Hotel of the Year 2012 at last night’s ninth annual Scottish Hotel Awards.
The five-star Chester Residence in the West End took the top prize, after judges said it was a style of hotel that was becoming ever more popular.
The Chester Residence is a collection of townhouses which opened in 2009 and has also held a rating as one of the Top 25 hotels in Europe on global travel website Trip Advisor.
Co-owners Graham and Gillian Wood were presented with the award during a glamorous ceremony dubbed the “Hotel Oscars”.
Mr Wood said: “As a small, family-run business winning this coveted award is just fantastic. Our whole team has worked extremely hard to continuously improve on every aspect of the service we provide and I want to use this opportunity to thank them. I’m delighted that these efforts have been recognised.”
