Lucky escape as cherrypicker topples over
AN 18-TON cherrypicker toppled over yesterday while three workmen were suspended 20 foot in the air inside the aerial platform.
However, the workmen, who were carrying out a roof inspection to a property at Newton Church Road in Danderhall, walked away from the incident unscathed.
Luckily, the cherrypicker fell between two houses, and was left standing at a 45 degree angle to the road.
One amused onlooker said: "One of the workmen later told me that the worst that he had to endure from it was a change of underwear."
