Lucky dog survives 11-day ordeal trapped on wire fence
A JACK Russell survived after being trapped on a fence for 11 days.
Ten-year-old Finlay was left in agony as he could not free his right hind leg from the wire fence.
Owner Janet King, 46, had given him up for dead after he disappeared along with another family dog Obie from their remote cottage near West Linton, Peeblesshire, on Friday, 16 October.
Only Obie returned and despite a huge search Finlay could not be found.
But on Tuesday farmer Billy Rutherford heard the dog's yelps on his land, around two miles from the family home.
He recognised Finlay from posters that had been put up in the village.
Janet's husband Michael, a vet, gave Finlay emergency treatment as he was severely dehydrated and malnourished.
