Love’s loser turns cupid
A LOVELORN bird at Edinburgh Zoo has taken to helping other bird couples build their nests.
The lonely Bleeding Hearted Pigeon – so called because of the characteristic red patch of feathers that resembles a wound – has been unable to find a mate.
Bird keeper Sean Meechan said: “He has been with us since February 2006 and is looking to woo that special someone.
“He has been a busy body – but in a nice way, trying to help the other bird pairs build nests, although his contributions aren’t always accepted.”
