Loganair ends Dundee flights
LOGANAIR is to end flights from its spiritual home, Dundee, by axing the city’s Belfast and Birmingham services from December due to lack of passengers.
The move will come as a blow to Highlands and Islands Airports Ltd (HIAL) which bought the airport five years ago.
HIAL managing director Inglis Lyon said it would have a “serious impact” on the airport.
The airline said it would retain its aviation engineering base at Dundee and there would be no compulsory redundancies.
Loganair launched its first scheduled flights from Dundee in 1963 when founder Willie Logan won the tender to build the Tay Road Bridge.
