Litterbugs pay the price

LITTERBUGS and irresponsible dog owners in the Craigentinny and Duddingston Ward have been forced to pay out almost £1500 in two months.

Litter and dog fouling have been highlighted as major annoyances within the ward at community partnership meetings and, in an effort to counter the issues, 29 fixed £50 penalty notices have been dished out by wardens.

Councillor Stefan Tymkewycz said: “Litter and dog fouling continues to be a problem but the environmental wardens will focus on these issues as a priority and fine offenders when caught.”
