Leafcutter ants enter into the romantic spirit of St Valentine's day
These Leafcutter ants at Edinburgh Zoo were getting into the romantic spirit for Valentine’s Day, and proving they will do anything for love.
In the wild, ants work in teams to carry leaves to their underground nest, and at Edinburgh Zoo they travel along a bridge that links the nest with their food source.
As a Valentine’s treat, keepers swapped their usual leaves for rose petals.
