Labour leader is ordered out
THE leader of the Labour group in East Lothian was ordered to leave a council meeting after demanding to debate an issue not on the agenda.
Councillor Willie Innes was told to "hold his wheesht" by council leader David Berry, SNP, when he persisted in debating the adult social care budget.
It came after Labour councillor Norman Hampshire was accused of using the meeting as a "political grandstand". The row started after Cllr Innes said the council administration had promised to bring forward a report, outlining measures to resolve the budget position, but it was not on the agenda.
