Kitchin is really cooking with second award
A TOP city eatery has won the prestigious AA Scottish Restaurant of the Year Award.
The Kitchin, in Leith, was honoured at the AA Centenary Awards 2008 on Tuesday. The news came the day after it was named one of the top ten UK restaurants outside of London in the London Restaurant Awards 2008 and appeared in The Good Food Guide 2009's top 40 list at number 38.
However, the top city restaurant according to the Good Food Guide's list was Restaurant Martin Wishart in Leith at number 14.
Kitchin owner Tom Kitchin said: "This has been a phenomenal year. It is a great achievement to be recognised by such a celebrated accolade as the AA Awards and a fantastic recognition of the entire team at The Kitchin for all their hard work."
Husband and wife team Tom and Michaela Kitchin set up the restaurant in 2006 and were awarded a Michelin star just six months after they opened.
