King of the Castle again

Edinburgh Castle has been voted the Top UK Heritage Attraction for the second year running at the British Travel Awards.

The Castle, which has this year played host to the Olympic Flame and the lighting of a beacon to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee, was named the winner in London last night.

Nick Finnigan, Edinburgh Castle’s executive manager, was presented with the gold award, the Oscar equivalent in the travel Industry.  He said: “This is a great honour and I am delighted to bring another award back to Scotland.”
