John Swinney looks to future for Edinburgh economy
FINANCE secretary John Swinney will be speaking about the future of Edinburgh and Scotland's economy at the first Scotsman conference.
Other speakers will be giving expert views on Edinburgh: The Next Five Years at the major event at the Hub, Castle Hill, on Monday, 22 February. It is organised by the owners of the Evening News, Scotsman Publications Ltd, and Essential Edinburgh.
Mr Swinney will be giving the keynote address on the city's role in Scotland's economy. The event will also look at how the city's transport, architecture and festivals will look in five years' time.
Henry Faure Walker, general manager of The Scotsman, said: "Our team has put together an excellent first conference and we are hopeful this could be the basis for an annual state-of-the-city event."
A second conference – Can The Green Economy Deliver For Scotland? – is on Monday, 24 May.
