Jodi's killer 'has cushy life behind bars'

TEENAGE killer Luke Mitchell has a cushy life behind bars, living in a cell filled with all mod cons, according to a letter allegedly sent to a female prisoner.

The 17-year-old murderer of Jodi Jones, 14, reportedly boasts about getting an electric guitar and a PlayStation 2, and owning stacks of CDs and video games. And Mitchell, who has won the right to appeal against his conviction, claims he is in line for even more privileges at Polmont Young Offenders Institution, in Falkirk.

Mitchell was convicted in January 2005 of killing his girlfriend. Jodi's throat was slashed, her hands were tied behind her back and her body was mutilated on a secluded woodland path in Dalkeith, on June 20.

In one letter he reportedly boasts: "I've got my CD player, 15 CDs, am getting an electric guitar in, ring earring, and 12.50 PPC (prisoner's personal cash).

"Am up for my enhanced soon, that means I get 15 PPC, seven visits per month, my civvy clothes, PS2, 25 CDs, five games, an approved cell hobby, and my photos, posters and books."
