THE man found guilty of murdering pensioner Jenny Methven has launched an appeal against his conviction and sentence.

William Kean was sentenced to a minimum of 22 years in prison at the High Court in Glasgow in August.

The 46-year-old denied murdering the 80-year-old at her home in Forteviot, Perthshire.

A High Court of Justiciary spokeswoman has confirmed papers have been lodged to appeal both his conviction and sentence.

Kean’s family insisted he is innocent.

The former car valeter has now launched his appeal.
