Jail for drunk driver who hit pedestrian
A HOTEL manager who left a pedestrian badly injured after crashing her car while three times the drink driving limit has been jailed for 18 months.
Allison Kerr, 35, mounted the pavement and catapulted Kevin McIvor into the air before her Rover came to rest on its side.
Kerr, formerly of Oxgangs Drive, Edinburgh, admitted driving dangerously and failing to take a bend before hitting Mr McIvor in Holmhead, Kilbirnie, Ayrshire.
She had drunk several glasses of wine after working long hours on the day of the smash last November, Kilmarnock Sheriff Court heard yesterday.
The mother-of-one was banned from the road for eight years.
