Jade’s goal for Children 1st

An Edinburgh woman is encouraging others to take part in the Great North Run in aid of the charity Children 1st.

Jade Roy, 38, from Davidsons Mains, is halfway through her fundraising feat of running four half marathons for the charity, which helps vulnerable children and their families.

The mother-of-two, who was fostered as a child herself, is aiming to raise more than £1000 for the charity.

Helen Sherbourne of Children 1st, said: “It’s people like Jade who can help build a brighter future for children and young people in Scotland.”

Registration for the Great North Run, which is held in Newcastle, closes on Friday.

To take part contact Helen on 0131-319 8068 or e-mail running@children1st.org.uk
