A LEADING golf resort on Royal Deeside has been placed in provisional liquidation, with the loss of 25 jobs.

The Inchmarlo Golf Resort on the outskirts of Banchory has an 18 hole championship course, a nine hole course and floodlit driving range.

Accountancy firm KPMG has been called in to act as provisional liquidators at the resort.

Blair Nimmo, the company’s head of restructuring in Scotland, said: “The golf courses have been local fixtures for the last 20 years and we will take all steps possible to find a new owner. It is with regret that we have had to make a number of redundancies on appointment, but unfortunately there was no other option.”

Twenty-five members of Inchmarlo’s total workforce of 30 have been made redundant with immediate effect.
