Hundreds mourn island teenager
Hundreds of mourners gathered on the island of Lewis to pay their respects to a teenager found dead in a garden in Inverness.
The funeral of Scott Campbell took place in Cross Church in Ness, on his home island.
The 16-year-old’s body was found in the Culduthel area of Inverness on Sunday.
The Rev Ian MacDonald led the service and said there was a “very large turnout” at a “difficult” time for the family.
“Many of Scott’s friends had made the journey from Inverness and others travelled from even further in Fife,” he added.
Alastair McKinlay, rector of Inverness Royal Academy said: “Scott was a very likeable lad, very personable. He was full of energy and had a great sense of humour.
“He was very popular with both staff and pupils.”
