Hundreds join the Premier League for activity sessions
Almost 1,000 older people are being given the opportunity to get active at their local Scottish Premier League football club.
A total of £214,500 granted to the SPL Trust will fund ten weeks of sessions over the next two years for the participants.
The grant was awarded through the Scottish Sport Relief Home and Away Programme, a £5 million fund designed for projects that create a lasting legacy from the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Since the new year, five of the 12 SPL clubs started their first programme which involves physical, social and well-being activities. Two programmes will be held this year and two next year, with a total of 240 people taking part in each one. Perth club St Johnstone have already begun sessions, and External Affairs and International Development Minister Humza Yousaf met with some of the people involved.
