House rapist hunt goes on

POLICE are continuing their appeal for information after a woman was raped in her own home.

Detectives launched a major investigation after the 20-year-old was attacked in Allan Terrace, Dalkeith, in the early hours of Sunday.

They said the woman, who had returned home from the Peppermint Park nightclub, knew her attacker.

Detective Chief Inspector Kenny Gray said: “We are continuing to investigate this serious sexual assault, but are now satisfied that this was not a stranger attack. A number of new lines of inquiry are now being followed and there is no evidence to suggest any risk to other members of the public.

“Officers would still like to hear from anyone who remembers seeing or hearing anything suspicious in Allan Terrace.”
