Homes plan for mill site

A DEVELOPER is set to build 34 homes on the site of a former paper mill in Midlothian.

Thomas Mitchell Homes has put forward proposals to build ten houses and 24 flats on land formerly occupied by the Dalmore Mill in Milton Bridge.

The project is set to be considered by Midlothian Council at a future meeting.

Curtis Fine Papers closed the 150-year-old plant in June 2004 with the loss of 127 jobs. The mill was the last remaining outpost of the Esk River’s paper industry.
