Holyrood staff like Facebook

A STAGGERING 16 million visits to Facebook were made by Holyrood staff and MSPs in a single year.

Figures obtained under Freedom of Information laws show computers at the Scottish Parliament accessed the popular networking forum a total of 16,301,539 times from 12 months to the end of September this year. Of those hits, more than 9.6 million were direct views of Facebook pages.

Google, BBC and Wikipedia were among the other most popular sites. Bryan Glick of Computer Weekly labelled the figures “extraordinary”.
