STRUGGLING music and DVD retailer HMV is to close 11 stores throughout Scotland with the loss of 178 jobs, after entering administration.
Insolvency firm Deloitte announced earlier today that it would be closing a total of 66 shops across the UK, with 930 staff directly affected.
The stores will continue to trade in the meantime, with no dates fixed for closure. The stores are, however, expected to be shut over the next two months.
The Scottish stores affected include the Ocean Terminal, Princes Street and St James’ Centre branches in Einburgh, at outlets at Glasgow’s Silverburn and Braehead shopping centres.
Deloitte are also closing stores in Falkirk, Dumfries and Kirkcaldy.
Three FOPP shops in Edinburgh and Glasgow are also continuing to trade, but there is no word on their future.
