Gunman holds up security guard in Glasgow’s Balmore Road
Police are hunting an armed robber who targeted a post office security guard during a cash delivery.
The man threatened the guard as he made the delivery to a branch in Glasgow’s Balmore Road, in the north of the city, at about midday yesterday and made off with an undisclosed sum.
Strathclyde Police said the robber was carrying what is believed to be a gun.
Detective Inspector Stephen Healy said: “This was a very brazen act, to target a security guard in the middle of a very busy road in broad daylight, and it is very important we trace the dangerous individual who carried out this despicable attack.”
