Gray in potholes cash plea
LABOUR Scottish leader Iain Gray says Glasgow should get more money to repair its potholes.
Mr Gray said the council has been starved of money for roads and other transport priorities.
Speaking in his Baillieston constituency, Mr Gray attacked the Scottish Government for investing in other areas to the detriment of the country's largest city.
The Ripped Off Glasgow campaign has called for the funding formula to be changed to give the city a fairer share of government cash.
Mr Gray called for urgent investment in roads and rail to ensure the city can compete on a national and international scale. "Every motorist knows local roads in Glasgow and the west of Scotland are in a mess, with more and more potholes," he said.
"Councils have been starved of cash for roads by the SNP government and, as a result, routine maintenance is in a pitiful state."
