Got it sorted: Royal Mail’s busiest day

mail workers could have done with an extra pair of hands yesterday – but that didn’t stop them posting a smile on their faces.

Frank Jones was working hard at the Edinburgh Mail Centre, which like other sorting offices across the country was experiencing its busiest day of the year.

Royal Mail spokeswoman Julie Pirone said: “We have taken on several hundred seasonal staff to help us. Our postmen and women are working very hard to deliver the mail before Christmas Day.”
