Go Forth in a queen’s name

THE new Forth crossing should be named The Queen Margaret Bridge, staff and students at a university say.

Queen Margaret, who was canonised in 1250, became Queen Consort of King Malcolm Canmore of Scotland.

Staff and students at QMU suggested the name after the Scottish Government invited nominations.

Principal Professor Petra Wend said: “We feel it is fitting that her name continues to live on through one of Scotland’s most modern developments.”
