The 26-year-old arrived as a free agent after leaving Swansea City and became a useful utility player under Martin Canning.

His influence at Accies has grown over his time and this past season he was one of the most valuable players in the league for their team.

No player was involved in more defensive duels or made more interceptions in the Scottish Premiership during 2019/20.

Speaking to Clyde 1, Gogic revealed he will consider staying in Scotland if presented with the right option having settled with his family.

“It definitely wasn’t an easy decision [to leave],” he said. “Hamilton was the first team I made a proper debut for men’s football, had amazing memories, great seasons, but I think the time now is the right time to maybe seek a new challenge.

“The four years have just been amazing in Hamilton. Given the opportunity, we stayed up every season, even the play-offs with Dundee [United], some amazing wins.

“I definitely call Hamilton home. My baby was born in Scotland, grew up in Hamilton. For us as a family it was a hard decision but the time now is right for a new challenge

“[My agent] has told me that yes there is some interest from the SPFL. We have just got to wait and see, sit down with him and discuss and see what is best for my career and my family.

“I think I am settled down now with my family. We have been here for the last four years, we love Scotland so now if it is the right option for my career, the best option, then I would stay.”
