Germans lead Fringe comedy invasion

THIS year’s Edinburgh Fringe festival will welcome its largest ever number of comedians from abroad, it has emerged.

With the festival starting this week, more than 100 of the 1000 comedy acts are from non-English speaking countries – with Germany’s contingent leading the way as the largest. Acts will be travelling from 47 different countries to Edinburgh for the arts extravaganza, despite the ongoing 
global economic crisis.
