Gas power cyclists hit city roads
A TEAM of around 100 workers from British Gas cycled through the streets of the Capital on Saturday to raise money for sick children.
The ride was part of a nine-day, 760-mile trip from Glasgow to Windsor, Berkshire, in a bid to raise £500,000 for the neurological department at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.
Chris Jansen, managing director of service and repair at British Gas, said: “There are many keen cyclists at British Gas and the country is going bike mad just now with Bradley Wiggins’ sensational win at the Tour De France and the Olympic success of Chris Hoy and Victoria Pendleton this summer.”
Tim Johnson, chief executive of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, said: “Their commitment will enable the hospital to treat more children with complex neurological conditions in world class-facilities.”
