Gary Numan heads to city
EIGHTIES icon Gary Numan will perform his classic album The Pleasure Principal in full in Edinburgh later this year.
Electronic pop pioneer Numan, best known for his number one single Cars, will perform at the HMV Picture House in Lothian Road on 26 November as part of a 16-date UK tour.
The Pleasure Principal album is being re-released as a double CD featuring demos and B-sides on the bonus disc, 30 years after it reached Number 1 in the UK album charts.
It was the point where Numan became a huge international solo star, reaching the Top 10 in the United States with Cars, while the album hit the US Top 20.
At his peak Numan performed Cars and Praying To The Aliens in front of 40 million people on the Saturday Night Live Show
In 2002 he was back making waves at the tops of the charts when pop trio Sugababes scored a number one with Freak Like Me which sampled the main riff from his other major 1979 hit Are 'Friends' Electric?.
Tickets will cost 22 and are available by calling 0844 847 1740.
