Gaming marathon to raise Sick Kids cash

GAMERS across the Capital are being urged to take part in a 24-hour gaming marathon in a bid to raise vital funds for the Sick Kids Friends Foundation (SKFF).

Organiser and father-of-one Tom Freeman is urging people to get involved in the day-long event called Sick Kids Save Point.

The 37-year-old from Queensferry said: “This is the third year we have launched Sick Kids Save Point and it’s been a massive success to date, raising nearly £28,000.”

Sick Kids Save Point will take place between October 12 and 14, with participants tackling the marathon from the comfort of their own home.

To sign-up, gamers must be 18 or over and check-in every three hours.

Tom added: “The Sick Kids Save Point events have snowballed since I started them two years ago. They are becoming more and more popular, with 60 people taking part last year.

“We have created a gaming community – people speak to each other through social networking portals and encourage each other throughout the event.”
