Funds boost gives groups helping hand

A NUMBER of community groups have begun the New Year on a high after being awarded vital funds.

Home Start West Lothian, Torphichen and Bathgate Pipe Band, Lothian Disability Badminton Club, Blackburn United, the 50+ Network and Stoneyburn Women’s Health and Well-being Group all won cash from ARISE West Lothian.

Established in 2010, ARISE (Alliance to Reward Initiatives and Social Enterprise) provides assistance to community activities that benefit West Lothian and is backed by Land Securities, owner of The Centre shopping complex in Livingston.

Each group will use the money to purchase various pieces of equipment and
material.
