Free sessions in genealogy are on offer

A SERIES of free family history sessions where people can explore genealogy are set to take place across Midlothian.

Experts will be on hand from the Lothians Family History Society to explain how to research family trees at a number of drop-in sessions in Midlothian libraries from October 27 to December 1.

The workshops are free and local residents will be provided with information on how to find long-lost ancestors and how to get the best from researching relatives at libraries and online.

Councillor Bob Constable said: “Delving into family trees is a fascinating pastime, and what better way to find out more than at these free sessions within our libraries.

“Genealogy allows people to personalise their past, and these workshops are a great opportunity.”
