Franz Ferdinand to rewrite script at book festival
ROCK stars Franz Ferdinand are to join the line-up at the Edinburgh International Book Festival, it was announced yesterday.
In a first for the festival, singer Alex Kapranos and guitarist Nick McCarthy will take their place alongside 600 authors attending.
In an event that is part of the children's programme, aimed at teenage fans, Kapranos and McCarthy will talk about their songs and how they write lyrics. They are expected to bring their guitars along.
Tickets will be available by ballot on the festival's website, www.edbookfest.co.uk.
"Songwriting is another form of creative expression, it's another form of poetry really, or storytelling," said children's programme director, Karen Mountney.
