Four appear in court over drug charges

Four men have appeared in court charged with drugs offences following police raids in West Lothian.

Ryan Mayberry, 22, from Whitburn, is charged with four counts of being concerned in the supply of drugs and one offence under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Mark Burns, 36, and Gordon Stewart, 49, both of Bathgate, are each accused of two offences of being concerned in the supply of illegal drugs. Hugh McAnna, 51, also from Bathgate, faces one charge of being concerned in the supply of drugs and an offence under Proceeds of Crime.

All four accused appeared in private at Livingston Sheriff Court yesterday and made no plea or declaration. They were committed for further inquiries and released on bail. Their arrests followed raids on Wednesday morning as part of the Operation Focus initiative.
