Former postman accused of rape and harassment
A FORMER postman appeared in court yesterday accused of raping two women and harassing one of them afterwards on Facebook.
Peter Millar, 43, of Mayfield Terrace, Scone, is alleged to have assaulted and raped one woman at an address in the Perthshire town between 1 September and 30 November 2006.
Millar faces a charge of attacking and raping a second woman in Stormontfield between 23 February and 31 March last year.
Another charge alleges that between 1 February and 26 November last year he caused the second woman fear and alarm by repeatedly sending text and Facebook messages and harassing her with phone calls. That charge further alleges that he regularly watched her home and followed her around.
He is also alleged to have shouted and sworn at an address in Scone on 6 December last year, and threatened to kill the first complainer the following day.
Miller appeared briefly in private on a petition at Perth Sheriff Court and he made no plea or declaration. The case was continued for further examination.
