A Scottish footballer is due to go on trial today accused of a sectarian breach of the peace.

Rangers goalkeeper Grant Adam, 20, is alleged to have conducted himself in a disorderly manner by swearing, singing and chanting sectarian slogans in Ingram Street, Glasgow in the early hours of November 6.

The footballer denied the charge when he appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court last November.

Adam, who is on loan to Airdrie United, was released on bail and is due to stand trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court today.

The 20-year-old has been a member of the Old Firm club since leaving school.
