Fireraiser posted intent to shoot rapist

A CONVICTED fireraiser used Facebook to post a threat to kill Da Vinci Code rapist Robert Greens.

Thomas Ferrier, 21, said he was going to hide in woodland and shoot the notorious sex offender through the head with a sniper’s rifle.

Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard how Ferrier wrote: “Next time he comes to his door I’m getting a head shot. I will be hiding in the woods with my sniper’s rifle Mwah ha ha Mwah ha ha Mwah ha ha.”

The court heard how a woman called Lynne Marshall visited the “Get Robert Greens Out of Midlothian” page on Facebook and was “alarmed” after reading the statement.

She contacted police, who arrested Ferrier – who was last month convicted of starting a fire in November 2011 which sparked the rescue of 15 people from a block of Tollcross flats – in July.

Ferrier, of Dalkeith, Midlothian, yesterday admitted breach of the peace.

Greens was jailed in 2005 for raping a Dutch student in the grounds of Rosslyn Chapel. Hundreds of locals have held protests outside his house in Bonnyrigg, calling for him to be rehomed elsewhere.

Sheriff Frank Crowe deferred sentence on Ferrier until
February next year.
