Firefighters find new base after blaze guts station

FIREFIGHTERS left homeless after their North Berwick station was gutted in a blaze are moving into a new temporary base.

Investigations are still under way into how the station caught fire shortly after 5am on Monday.

From today, the town’s fire cover will now be based temporarily in a yard on the Heugh Industrial Esatate.

Replacement fire engines, uniforms and kit have also been sourced for the brigade.
