Fire tackled in prison cell
Firefighters were called after a blaze was sparked in a prison cell in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The fire broke out at the men’s Addiewell Prison, in West Lothian, at about 4:30am.
A spokeswoman for Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service said a 49-year-old man was involved.
He was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene, but an ambulance spokesman said that he was not taken to hospital.
