Fire in block of flats forces out residents

RESIDENTS have been evacuated from a block of flats in central Glasgow after a fire broke out.

Firefighters were called to the “intense” blaze at an eight-storey building in York Street at about 11:20pm on Sunday. All residents were accounted for and one woman was treated for the effects of smoke inhalation.
