Father sorry Vicky's body not found in search

THE father of missing schoolgirl Vicky Hamilton has spoken of his disappointment that his daughter's body has not been found at Peter Tobin's former home.

Michael Hamilton, 56, has also revealed that his plans to visit the convicted killer in prison have been blocked by senior police chiefs.

Police stripped the house in West Lothian where Tobin, the man who raped and murdered Polish student Angelika Kluk, had been staying at the time Vicky went missing.

But yesterday police revealed their examination of the house had come to an end with the residents returning to the property.

Mr Hamilton and his family now face yet another agonising wait as police confirmed forensic tests on DNA removed from the house are still ongoing and they are refusing to rule out the possibility of finding a genetic match to Vicky.

The teenager went missing from Bathgate in West Lothian in 1991. Police believe it is likely she was abducted and murdered.

Mr Hamilton, from Falkirk, said: "I'm disappointed no trace of Vicky has been found, part of me really wanted to believe Tobin may have been responsible for her going missing, just so we could finally move on."
