Faslane base protesters arrested
ANTI-NUCLEAR protesters were arrested yesterday during an early-morning blockade at the Faslane naval base.
The demonstration by members of the Trident Ploughshares group began at 7am as activists chained themselves together at entrances to the Clyde base, home of the Trident missile system. A main route to the base, the A814, was blocked.
Strathclyde Police said there had been 21 arrests.
